Hi guys,

First of all: Cypher is good. Am I right that this is a continuation -of sorts- of Lost.no? Anyway, its good to have a decent online hacking game around, cudos!

My suggestion is that the navigation of the GUI can be better. The menu ("main - skills - ... - logout") moves around a lot when you go to different pages. This can be frustrating, especially if you misclick. A simple solution to the moving of the menu would be to always have the menu at the top, and any addition entry-forms below the navigation menu.

Cheers,
Erik / N=1

if you use the cypher toolbar then you can just use that to navigate and then you don't have to worry about the links moving around

Thx!

Nonetheless, the suggestion still stands. Not everybody likes Firefox or is willing to install additional toolbars.

I spent some time clicking around to see what you are talking about. I do not use the cypher toolbar (is there such a thing? lol) and the only places I have seen the menu bar remotely jump would be listings where filtering can be applied (mission lists, tech shop, warez broker). It ends up getting pushed down to make room for a filter box. Im sure rez and nyx thought hard about where to place it, and it does seem in a convenient spot (plain in sight) from usability perspective.

You seem not to use firefox... may I ask which browser you are using, and which places you observed the menu jumping around?

You've got it right: the filters push the menu down in the following places:

- Single player missions
- Multi player missions
- Tech shop
- Warez broker

Oh, and I do use Firefox, but I dislike add-ons. IMHO a browser game's GUI should not depend on an add-on.

And while we are at it another GUI improvement

when I open the console, the window is fairly small. If you open an application, I always have to resize both the console window, and the applicaton windows inside the console. (apps: browser, virus builder, chat). Resizing application windows inside the console is pixel precise work. You could maximize a app window, but then it makes scroll bars appear in the (real)browser window that contains the console.

Cheers!
